6.10.6      Example of Relay Connection

DOUT9 and DOUT10 are used to control relay K1 and K2 respectively, which are internal encapsulated interfaces. If you have to use the relays, you can use the COM, NC, NO interfaces directly on the external expansion board after it to Dobot M1. If you have to test the relay K1 and K2, you can debug OUT09 and OUT10 on the M1Studio > I/O Assistant page.

This topic takes magnetic valve as an example to describe how to connect to relay.

Prerequisites

Ÿ   Dobot M1 has been powered on.

Ÿ   Dobot M1 has been connected to a PC successfully.

Ÿ   Dobot M1 has been connected to an emergency stop switch.

Ÿ   Dobot M1 has been connected to DB62 external expansion board.

Procedure

Step 1         Check whether relay works normally.

Take relay K2 as an example.

1.         Set the multimeter to Continuity mode and connect one probe to COM2 interface, and connect the other probe to NC2 interface.

2.         Click 24V of OUT10 on the Output pane of the I/O Assistant page.

If a tone is emitted, the Normally-Closed function works normally.

3.         Connect one probe to COM2 interface, and connect the other probe to NO2 interface.

4.         Click 0V of OUT10 on the Output pane of the I/O Assistant page.

If a tone is emitted, the Normally-Open function works normally.

Step 2         Connect relay K2 to magnetic valve, as shown in Figure 6.64.

When the status of EX_OUT10 is high level, the magnetic valve will not work. While the status of EX_OUT10 is low level, the magnetic valve will work.
