DOBOT Global Finals of Robotics Competitions Kick off at the World Robot Conference 2019
DOBOT robotics competitions bring together nearly 200 teams of 1,000 teachers and students across the globe, including Russia, Japan, and South Korea.
Beijing, August 20, 2019 - The Global Finals of DOBOT Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge 2019 and Robot Industrial Robot Competition 2019 kicked off at the World Robot Conference 2019 in Beijing. Over 580 primary, middle school and university students from 20 cities, 5 countries battled 15 regional rounds in the past 3 months, with only 130 teams in total being granted the honorable entry to the 2019 DOBOT Final here in Beijing Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center.
As a renowned solution provider for STEAM education, DOBOT rolled out one international contest facing K12 graders and one targeting university students. In 2019, DOBOT contests were able to bring together nearly 200 teams of 1,000 teachers and students. These contestants have been through layers of selections and are among the best of the best.
The DOBOT Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge 2019 is a completely upgraded version. By simulating the real-world logistics of intelligent manufacturing, the robot works with the self-driving vehicle to load, unload and sort materials according to the given instructions. This contest helps improve students’ comprehensive application ability in intelligent vision, auto-driving, intelligent robot systems, and route optimization. 126 teams have participated in the Challenge and 13 of them are coming outside of China. The overseas contestants from Russia, Japan, and South Korea have been rigorously selected from 40-50 teams in their home country to come at Beijing for the final. The competition consists of two rounds and one final. August 22rd will see the champion revealed among top 8 teams.
The Robot Industrial Design Competition Championship takes place from August 20-25, 2019. During this period, the contestants will debug their equipment, present their projects, and answer questions related to their projects on site. The audience can have a first glimpse of original and creative projects presented by future programmers or engineers. Unlike traditional robot contests, to claim the champion title not only requires the contestants to impress the professional referee panel, but also win over the votes from the audience and the media.
First introduced in 2017, DOBOT competitions are created with the aim to improve and innovate robotics teaching for teenagers and establish an effective evaluation mechanism for robot education. As a strong advocate of the idea “to learn better through competition”, DOBOT is committed to providing a platform for students at home and abroad to exchange and learn about robotics. Since its launch, over 3,200 young students from 800 teams around the world participated in the DOBOT robotics competitions.
Founded in July, 2015, DOBOT is a global leading provider of all-perceptive intelligent robotics solutions, focusing on the development of all-perceptive intelligent robotic arms that integrate perception and interaction. Thanks to its remarkable breakthroughs in vision, control, servo drive, and robotic body, DOBOT products are selling in more than 180 countries and regions around the world, widely used in education, industry and business.
